These were just plucked from under my upstairs lanai. I missed a cherry one because it fell to the ground --- downside of Topsy Turvy As Seen on TV Tomato Planters ... further to fall.
Too bad inventors did not add a little net feature.
At any rate, we seem to have started a fad as you can see them on…

Not to diss Boots n Kimo's which certainly has its share of yummy stuff, the leagues of people standing outside in the noonday sun (mad dogs and englishmen) really ought to consider:
Kalapawai Cafe
Crepes No Ka Oi
Mokes Bread and Breakfast
Cinnamon's
Big City Diner
Brents
Morning Brew
to name just a few....Boots n Kimos might think about putting one of those fan sprayer thing-ys outside the store so customers will feel better while they wait. And having a giant dispenser of some kind of SPF 30+…

It may be commonknowledge, but perhaps not ... most of the town of Kailua is owned by the Castle Foundation and Kaneohe Ranch. They are the ones reasponsible for develping Kailua as a walking town, a vision that is coming true faster than we thought. We've heard rumors that the current bowling alley will be replaced ny a patk -- and we don't know if that is a park or a parking garage, but either way, we feel something good wil come of it,
Today, I drove to the very busy mall where out store is…

Midweek comes through for Best of Kailua, as Ron Nagasawa picks Best of Kailua as his favorite website of the week.
Actually, along with www.lanikaibathandbody.com (you can also get there through www.lanikai.com) and www.thebrandstrategygroup.com (our own website) it is one of our favorites, too!
We hope lots of people will join Best of Kailua because this really is one of the great communities on the planet, and it has plenty of fans!
We were shocked and horrified when we saw how Martha's Vi…

This afternoon, we saw two big barracuda in the canal that runs by our backyard to Kailua Beach.
When my son was younger, he figured out the perfect shiny, silver lure to catch barracuda. He would see one coming down the canal, grab his fishing pole and strike at the perfect time. He always threw them back. Once we meaured one as long as his arm/
Today, some ten or fifteen years later, he saw two barracuda in the canal -- each over three feet long. They lingered
near our backyard for some time…

HI Phillipa;
I see you are still walking everyday, thanks for taking care of our dogs when we travel, it makes it so much more relaxing knowing someone who cares is taking care of your pets. Good luck with your business.

Just returned from some wonderful walks with some very special four-legged friends: beach, country, marsh - lots of sniffing, rolling and tail wagging!
Started the day with a visit to a beloved elderly cat. She is looking all spick and span and glossy-coated ready for her owner's return this evening from a long trip, I shall miss her very much - she had me trained perfectly!
Getting ready for an evening walk with another special 'client' - aren't they all?!

Today is the President's birthday, and despite the fake Kenyan birth certificate he was BORN in Hawaii, on OAHU, in
1961. He was in my sister in law Joy Hungerford's class at Punahou, and I was a permanent substitute in his fifth
grade class.
Our memory of each other is mutually non-existent.
That being said, on his last trip to Hawai`i, he made Kailua his home. We were our ever-hospitable selves, and Kailua is hoping that the Obamas will come back again soon!
On a previous trip, he visited K…

Our good friend Michelle Schaefer and her husband Dave are in town for a two week vacation and staying in one of the many very cool vacation rentals in Lanikai. Ian and I went over there for dinner last night and had a wonderful time.
The place itself has a real hawai`i/lanikai/kailua feel with three lanais, a terraced backyard and a well done waterfall nestled into the hillock behind the house. Beautiful Hawaiian plants and lots of beautiful invasive species ... nonetheless we have adopted the…

When Brook Gramann informed me of her urgent desire to have a Topsy Turvy Tomato As Seen on TV Tomato Planter,I knew it would be my mission to find her one. I was outdone by her husband David who spotted the Topsy Turvy As Seen on TV Tomato Planter on a trip to Sam's Club, I believe. As far as I know, the Topsy Turvy As Seen on TV Tomato Planter is still awaiting its plant at the Gramann home.
Because I believe Brook to be the guru of half-a--ed gardening (her sister Charla being a Master Garde…
