Two Big Barracuda

This afternoon, we saw two big barracuda in the canal that runs by our backyard to Kailua Beach.

When my son was younger, he figured out the perfect shiny, silver lure to catch barracuda. He would see one coming down the canal, grab his fishing pole and strike at the perfect time. He always threw them back. Once we meaured one as long as his arm/

Today, some ten or fifteen years later, he saw two barracuda in the canal -- each over three feet long. They lingered
near our backyard for some time, and soon we could hear the neighbor's son yelling for his dad to come see the barracuda. Maybe Ian will share his special lure with him, and another generation can catch and release the barracuda in our canal.

That's an great story. What an awesome sight that must be (seeing barracudas swimming in the canal)! Man I miss my beloved K-Town. But, I sure do enjoy reading stories like yours. Makes me feel closer to home :-)
